A Microsite is a mini website designed in the corporate
image or branding style of your company.
It also contains the relevant key phrases and content
associated with your business, products or services
that people might enter into search engines.
For example, a campsite owner in the British Lake District
may predict that someone booking a holiday nearby would
visit Google and search for 'lake district campsites'.
So this may be an ideal key phrase for them to include
in their Microsite content.
My website already has good content, do I still
need a Microsite?
Yes, your content may be relevant to visitors, but
what we're discussing here is how to get them to your
site in the first place.
Microsites contain more than outward facing content,
even though this is a major part of what search engines
look for. They require the information in a certain
way, so search engine optimisation should never be overlooked
or underestimated.
